A good year for cruise

This year 111,639 cruise guests from 85 different nations visited our town. These have been on 52 different cruise ships which together had 103 cruise Calls.

Despite the fact that we expected a decline of around 8,000 cruise passengers, we have actually had 8 more cruise guests this year than last year. Tromsø is still on the top 10 list of Norwegian cruise destinations in terms of both number of calls and number of passengers.

Among all cruise passengers 39% were Germans, while 19% were British and 18% came from Spain, France and Italy.

8 turnaround operations has been made in Tromsø and 3,346 passengers started or ended their cruise here.

The largest ship this year was “MSC Splendida” which had five calls with around 3,900 passengers on board each time.

For 2016 we expect preliminary 105,000 cruise passengers to be onboard the 84 cruise ships we have on our list by now.
